    Filipino Pianist Adolovni Acosta

    Born in the Philippines and a resident of New York City, ADOLOVNI ACOSTA received the John D. Rockefeller 3rd Fund scholarship from The Juilliard School at Lincoln Center where she earned the M.Sci. degree under the tutelage of Mieczyslaw Munz. She also studied privately for four years with Zenon Fishbein, and for six years with Eugene List. Adolovni also attended Wesleyan University in Connecticut (World Music Program on full assistantship) and New York University. A recipient of the 2006 Philippine Presidential Award for overseas Filipinos and the first prize winner in a national piano competition sponsored by the Music Promotion Foundation of the Philippines, she earned the TDM, BM and MM degrees from the University of the Philippines where she studied with Benedicta Macaisa and Regalado Jose.

    Adolovni has taught at The Juilliard School Pre-College Division, New York University Department of Music and the Performing Arts Professions, and Hunter College of the City University of New York Department of Continuing Education. She has judged for the East & West Artists International Auditions and the New York Chopin Competition, among others. Adolovni has performed in five continents and at prestigious venues that include Salle Cortot in Paris; Wigmore and Purcell Halls in London; Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, and Steinway Hall in New York; Hallwylska Museet in Stockholm; Der BeethovenSaal in Bonn; Yamaha Concert Hall in Vienna; Centro Cultural Recoleta in Buenos Aires; Teatro Nacional in Brasilia; Sala Carlos Chavez at UNAM in Mexico City; and the Cultural Center of the Philippines.In addition to performing recitals presented by Philippine Embassies and Consulates in many parts of the world, Adolovni has performed at The White House for former first lady Rosalyn Carter during the annual diplomatic corps dinner, and at Malaca๑an Palace in Manila in the presence of Philippine President Gloria M. Arroyo and former President Fidel Ramos during the testimonial dinner for the 2006 Philippine Presidential Award recipients.Adolovni Acosta has conducted master classes, in addition to giving recitals, at universities and music conservatories in Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Brunei, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and India.
